The municipal health office responsible for implementing essential health care services (EHCS) and monitor activities output of health posts (HPs), Urban health unit (UHC) and Birthing centers. A Health posts is the first institutional contact point for basic health services. HPs monitor the activities of Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs) as well as community based activities by Primary Health Care outreach clinics (PHC/ORC) and Expanded program on Immunization (EPI) clinics. In addition, HPs also function as the referral center of FCHVs as well as a venue for community based activities such as PHC/ORCs and EPIs clinic.
In upcoming days municipal health office will responsible for strengthening of municipal health system by means of supporting mechanism to health institution by providing logistical, financial, supervising and technical support.
